Give me topics for a top five list! Anything at all: top five favorite socks, top five favorite smells or anything you want. I'll post the answers in an upcoming post.
You aren't limited to just one idea each, so ask a few if you'd like. |

a. list seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself b. tag seven people to do the same c. do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it"
1. I grew up in Pennsylvania (close to Harrisburg) and fondly remember visiting Hershey Chocolate World. There's a ride dedicated to the creation of the chocolate and after the ride is over, you enter into a food court area and there's a BIG Hershey's chocolate milk carton. I swear the chocolate milk tastes better there than any other place.
Here's a youtube (it's long, 8 minutes or so) of the ride, which has undergone several changes since I was last there (over 10 years ago).
http://youtube.com/watch?v=o-GgmdkGUPI
2. I went to private schools throughout my entire education, except for kindergarten, where I was mercilessly teased on the bus as well as on the playground, mostly by people that I knew from my neighborhood!
3. I used to go to a homeopathic doctor and my pets went to a homepathic vet.
4. When I'm at home, I never call Dave by his name, or rarely. I normally come up with some made-up names (Bibble) or just things that just randomly pop into my head, like Yodel, Squeezephone (which is also the name I came up with for the remote control, when I forgot the name of it), Snuggle Napkin, etc. I also do this for a lot of things around the house, like the remote (squeezephone), tissues (nose pillow) and pot lids (heat hats).
5. I used to be a bit of a stalker as a little girl. I have photos of my grade school crushes that I took without their knowledge! I used to be totally creepy. Go me!
6. I have a bizarre fascination with wrists and hands, especially thin wrists and big hands on men. Although, I feel like this interest has died down since I've been with Dave and I'm not oogling strangers' wrists as much anymore, but still, hands are beautiful things! I believe this fascination started with my mom's hands. She has beautiful hands and I used to admire them as I watched her drive, her hands on the steering wheel, hoping that I'd have thin wrists and beautiful long fingers just like her.
7. I definitely prefer the winter olympics to the summer ones. Although, I watch both. I think my love was pushed over the edge by being overly into the 1998 Nagano games and watching these guys (Jonny Moseley & Eric Bergoust) kick ass. Who knew I was so into skiing?

[Apr. 10th, 2007|11:38 pm] |
I couldn't actually guess any of cashbox's movies, but I got at least two of thisisfurious's. I didn't leave comments because I suck and because I didn't want to look at the answers until Dave guessed because he's the person that recalls films much better than I do. Now here is mine:
-Go to IMDB.com and look up 10 of your favorite movies.
-Post three official IMDB "Plot Keywords" for these 10 picks.
-Have your friends guess the movie titles.
01. Switchblade -- Rooftop -- Swimming Pool 02. Orgasm -- Zorro -- Subway 03. Ice -- Beach -- Remote Control Airplane 04. Crying Baby -- Worm -- Bad Smell 05. Romance -- Blizzard -- Alarm Clock 06. Topiary -- Loneliness -- Family 07. Voice over -- Penguin -- Blood 08. Friendship -- Tool Shed -- Pool Cue 09. Small Town -- Chinese Restaurant -- Flat Tire 10. Grocery Store -- Water Tower -- Adultery
Remember to guess first and then look at the comments, because the comments might give away some of the answers. :) & lucky for you, I decided not to list the really obscure movies that I love. haha |

1. Tell you why I friended you. 2. Associate you with a song / movie. 3. Tell a random fact about you. 4. Tell a first memory about you. 5. Associate you with an animal / fruit. 6. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you. 7. In return, you must post this in your own LJ.
Don't be shy, non-LJ types, I'll answer some of these questions for you too. :) Or try, at least. |

Anyone else hating the new LJ update box? It doesn't make sense now, but anyways, I laughed out loud to this one:
On the twelfth day of Christmas, skafunkmelt sent to me... Twelve rodents drumming Eleven tulips piping Ten cats a-stargazing Nine cameras shoegazing Eight naps a-reading Seven stamps a-writing Six fonts a-googling Five po-o-o-olka dots Four tiny boxes Three letter openers Two rain storms ...and a vegetarianism in a high fidelity.
& 10 Facts inspired by ladieschoir
01. I like to call small dogs tinies. I like tinies a lot and I squeal like a little girl when I see them. I have a big imagination and I like to imagine two tinies are living in my belly. They are chihuahuas named George and Jorge. One of them barks in an accent and it's adorable.
02. I used the very same science project three times at three different schools. It was a recycling project that required me to remove the trash from my school and weigh it. Oh yes, we drove around with the school's trash in our trunk and we would weigh it at the post office late at night. We had different sections for recyclables, trash, food trash, etc. I had some interesting findings. Anyways, when my sister had to do a science project, she did the very same one and SHE WON THE SCIENCE FAIR!
03. I once called a strange person in LA that I had met in mIRC. I couldn't tell if that person was a woman or man based on their voice, and they sort of freaked me out. We still talked for about 3 hours. It cost me $25.
04. My favorite band when I was a little girl was The Monkees. I really thought I was going to marry Davy Jones and was thorougly disapointed when I found out that he was already married with children.
05. I used to practice kissing on the car window when my mom left me in the car.
06. When I was in middle school, my best friend and I would sneak into parts of the school that were off limits. We liked to sneak outside and hold the door open, but this one time when we did that, we thought we were holding the door open, but we ended up just holding the metal flap and being locked outside behind the school. Luckily, it was recess, but we had to sneak around the really large school building and not get spotted by the many people outside. We hid behind a car when we spotted the man that mowed the lawn, and somehow made it around the building just in time that everyone was being told to go inside.
07. When I was 6 years old, I told my mom that we had to see Beetlejuice for her birthday, because I knew she would like it. I knew she liked scary movies and this looked scary and funny! She asked me if I thought it would be too scary and I said, "It looks funny!" I didn't really get scared till the end.
08. I ran out of the dentist's chair when I was little girl. I just got up and ran out the door.
09. I used to wear my vegetarian pin way before I actually was vegetarian. I've been veg since June 3, 2002. Both my sister and I went veg at the same time -- June 1 -- but I woke up from a nap and chowed down on some KFC chicken tender strips -- my last meat-y meal, so hence my June 3 start date. My sister doesn't eat beef (or rarely) anymore, but she's not strictly vegetarian.
10. I found out about my college in a Seventeen Magazine. I read the article, visited the school, applied and got in. Emerson College was the only school I applied to and if I hadn't gotten in, I would still be working at the library in smalltown Texas. |

( Leave a treasure in my Christmas Stocking )
Some goodies, I'd like for Christmas: -LJ time, mine runs out 1/1/07 -- Our third year anniversary! ♥ -polaroid film -penpals/mail friends -365 big cans -- assorted raspberry, sweet tea & green tea flavors, kthx -Lush Snowcake soap
There's a huge list of things that we need, like furniture and $$, but I'm still allowed a few wants, right? I have a huge Amazon wishlist, which is more like, things I'll buy eventually or things I'd like to check out. Is it possible to own too many books? Probably not. I suppose another NEED is another bookshelf. :)
I really wish I was working right now, because I'd love to make some wishes come true on the holiday_wishes community. Perhaps next year. I'm also loving the ideas on giving_ideas community. There are too many amazing handmade/cheap gift ideas to be found there. Go LJ Spotlight!
P.S. I wish I could go home for Christmas this year. I haven't had a Christmas with my family in two years and I miss it. Plus, I missed out on all the Christmas Markets in Germany last year and *sigh* I'll probably never get to go to Germany again. |

| [haiku generators are silly] |
[Oct. 12th, 2006|05:16 pm] |
I'm not normally one for the haiku generator. I can write my own, but these few amused me quite a bit.
very asian she was very asian she was very asian she
library job at northeastern and we found a cute place in my head
saw people reading the nutrition labels and trying to figure
*kitty and eddie dog went to bbq today in new york city
room and hear children playing outside and the sounds of an aim bot
& something inspired by this silly thing:
they should line the streets for the hungry boys and girls taco stands perhaps
on the lid of a cardboard box there is a sign about a lost dog
Do your own? Here!
*modified middle line to make more sense and actually be a real haiku! |

So I asked cashbox for a letter/theme, my letter is T and my theme was transportation. I actually pulled this off. I think the meme was for 5 songs, but I picked 6. Enjoy!
"Title and Registration" -- Death Cab for Cutie: I actually don't know if this song is wholly about transportation, but it's the first song I thought of and so it makes it to the six. It's also very catchy and who doesn't love a dcfc song?
"Take Me to the Hospital" -- The Faint: I used to have a fantastic hook-up for all things music, but we haven't talked in awhile. He writes an excellent blog that is rarely updated. Anyways, he sent me this song a long time ago and it's fun & dancey like every Faint song.
"Ticket to Ride" -- The Beatles: I really don't need to say why this song is great. It just is. Although, when I was a little girl, I thought I saw The Beatles in concert and I told one of my friends at school that. He told me that John Lennon was dead and that I did not see The Beatles. The truth hurts.
"Tyler" -- Toadies: This is one of the many songs that I associate with being a teenager and my time in Texas. The Toadies are from Texas and that makes them one of the few good things about that state.
"They Got Lost" -- They Might Be Giants: Dave recommended this song to me and after one listen I was hooked. It's silly and fantastic and the perfect song to listen to on the way to your radio station debut.
"Tune Out" -- The Format: This is another Dave recommendation. We both don't have anything to say about the band, but Dave rushed out and bought the CD after hearing only one song. I like this song and that's that!
BONUS:
"Tiki Fiesta" -- Plastilina Mosh: I've talked about this band a lot. There's really no way to describe their songs, but my mom even likes them and I think that says something as my mom only listens to Abba and ELO. We also listened to this CD for months & months in the car. |

Welcome to the 2005 edition of getting to know your friends. Change all the answers so they apply to you, and then post this in your LJ. The theory is that you will learn a lot of little things about your friends, if you did not know them already.
