Is anyone else using Plurk? It's similar to Twitter, but there's more smileys involved with a dash of karma too.
I might update this one unlike my very sad and neglected twitter account. |

| [weekend fun] |
[May. 31st, 2008|08:29 am] |
Last weekend, I hit up Earthfest, went to the beach and then to the MFA for free. It was a pretty great weekend even though I ignored all of my responsibilities like packing for my week in Chicago that starts today. (Click on the photos for more information.)

| [in paris] |
[May. 14th, 2008|06:47 pm] |
My little sister is in Paris, France visiting a friend. I thought I would add the France on there considering we used to live in Texas. Anyways, any places she should hit up? I'm guessing she probably already knows what's she doing and she's with a friend that's going to college there, so I'm sure they'll be doing lots of fun things together. Is there anything awesome that I should have her get for me on my behalf?
I probably should have her take a photo or two at the Two Windmills. ;) |

| [my friends like me because i'm fun] |
[Jun. 5th, 2007|09:11 pm] |
People think I'm boring.
I know this because my friend's grandmother said so. She didn't say this to my face, but to my friend, who told me. I don't know why she told me, because now I think I'm boring. And it might be true. At work, people probably don't think I'm any fun. I play by the rules. I do what they ask. I don't talk too much. I'm quiet. This is just a part of my personality. I've always been the quiet studious one. The boring one.
But I'm not boring. I'm fun. But it's hard to prove to people that never speak to you. It's hard to prove that you're fun when you're trying your best not to explode because you've been at work for over 6 hours and still haven't taken your break. It's hard to prove that you're fun when you're hungry..and you have a headache and you're stressed out, but everyone around you seems so fucking calm.
No one thinks I curse, but I do. All the fucking time.
Most people have the impression that I'm very innocent. In high school, one girl was shocked to find out that I listened to rock music, because I was the smart one. "Oh, I thought you listened to classical!"
But I don't. I'm cool.
I'm fun.
But no one knows. Because no one asks.
Why everyone else is goofing around, I'm being the responsible one longing to be on the other side. But I don't really want to trade places.
Because it's fun fooling everyone. |

| [the best weekend ever] |
[Mar. 27th, 2007|09:54 pm] |
Friday: Dave didn't have work, so he whipped up a delicious vegetarian stir-fry. I was hesitant as I'm not one for cooked tofu, but now I can't wait till he makes it again. I also got to play with my brand new Nintendo DS Lite after having it for nearly two weeks, but I was waiting for a shipment of protective filters to be delivered to Radio Shack, so I wouldn't scratch the thing up. I'm currently playing Nintendogs and it's really the cutest thing ever. I'm obviously easily amused. Another thing, I bought these DS games back in November and I just bought the DS now. The games were on sale and my mom said I could buy the DS, but then they sold out of the DS for Christmas, so basically, I've been waiting for them to get back in stock. *sigh*
Saturday: Dave made pancakes for breakfast! Best boyfriend ever. Then we took a ride on the T to drop in on the Boston Zine Fair, which seemed fairly unbusy compared to previous years. I suppose it was due to the short notice. I bought three zines. I just wasn't digging it as much as I have in the past. Plus, I was trying to save money. That's a very hard thing to do with so many beautiful papery objects staring me in the face. I should have said hello to kore, but she was away from her table when I walked by. Her Blythe doll was there and she was gorgeous. ♥ After the fair, we went to Orange Julius/DQ! Yes, there is a Dairy Queen/Orange Julius in Boston! Seriously, I have been craving DQ for months and I decided to finally look it up, expecting the closest one to be miles away and wow...what a surprise! We also bought some slices of pizza from Crazy Dough and the whole experience was disappointing. Although, nothing can top watching a strongest man competition in a pizza joint, even if the pizza isn't that good and the soda tastes off. We should have stuck with the plan to get burritos. & finally, I peeked at Madonna's H&M line and didn't see a thing I could actually wear. Oh well. I still love that store. The European H&Ms are so much better though.
Sunday: Today.Was.Amazing! I'm still glowing about what happened on Sunday. Today was the free screening of Hot Fuzz!! We were warned to show up early and we got there around 2:45 for a 5:30 show and there were about 70 people already in line. I decided to be totally unprepared and not bring anything to do to kill the time. I did drop into Newbury Comics while Dave held our spot in line to buy the new Modest Mouse cd. Then we read the Hipster Haiku book ($1.99 at Urban Outfitters!) that I had left in my purse, so Dave could read it. Then we were in awe of all the people reading comic books in line. Dave ran off for a wrap from Au Bon Pain, but apparantly, they don't know how to make things from their menu, because it wasn't what he had ordered. Finally, more waiting and entertainment from the people ahead of us in line. You can't help but eavesdrop in those situations and these people were hilarious. I wish we had spoken up. I wanted to be friends with those guys. There was also a performance from the BLOWW (Boston League of Women Wrestlers) going on down a ways from where we were in line. It was the finale to the showing of El Presidente and it looked like it would have been fun to watch, but alas, our spots in line were more important. We had no problem getting into the theater, but it was still nervous as each person went in ahead of us.
We actually ended up with the exact (or very close to) the seats we wanted in the theater. We ended up in the front row of the balcony pretty close to center. I couldn't believe when Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright showed up. They said a quick hello before the movie and it was nice to see that Nick was there, because it was advertised as just being the director and Simon. The movie was hilarious. I'm definitely going to go see it again, because I felt like I missed some parts of the dialogue due to giant waves of laughter from the audience. And the laughter was well deserved, but quieter please.
The Q&A was lovely. They were very patient and no one asked any silly questions. And they were nice enough to stick around (even though the theater very much wanted everyone to leave) and sign autographs. It's too bad I couldn't get my picture with them, but I didn't want to hog them up to myself as there were a lot of people there wanting them to sign posters. I'm really glad that we asked them to sign our's, because we almost didn't.
Seriously, best night ever. Now, all I need to do is meet the MythBusters! ♥
