Another year, another change jar. This year I found $5.23 (less than last year). I thought it would have been less than that, because it didn't seem like I was finding very much lately. Last summer, I found a ton walking past the Burger King drive-thru on my way to work. I found a lot of silver change that way. Unfortunately, I can't take the short cut anymore, since they put up a fence, so I've only been spotting pennies here and there. Boo!
& now it finds a new home in my piggy bank and to start all over again. |

After a year of picking change off the street, I have $5.35 and I do believe, I pulled out a dollar in dimes from it once when I needed to take the bus and forgot to write an IOU and add it back in, so really I had $6.35!! That's a lot of pennies and even dimes, nickels and quarters to find on the street all abandoned-like. Lucky me.
I started a new jar of found change on May 1, so I'm hoping for an even more profitable year.
P.S. Do you realize how hard it is to pick up tails up pennies on the street after you've been trained to only pick up the heads up ones for good luck? Very hard. |
