1. Has anyone had (or is suffering) from Plantar fasciitis? Any recommendations to help deal with the pain?

The pain in my foot started last week and this morning it hurt too much to put any weight on my left foot because of the pain in my heel. I went to a walk-in clinic and this was my diagnosis. I was given special exercises to do, told to take ibuprofen and basically told to come back if it gets worse. I made an appointment with a podiatrist, but it's not for a month. Seriously, I was bound to get this (wearing terrible shoes for all of the walking I do), but did it have to happen right before my trip to Chicago? Ugh.

2. Any recommendations for a college graduation gift? It's for one of our mutual friends. He's not really into drinking or anything. I could do clothes, I suppose, but that requires time. It's for this coming Sunday and I was thinking of just giving cash. Is that too lame? I was thinking Dave could give $25 and I could give $25. And we'll make one of our famous robot cards or well, Dave will because that's not my area of expertise.

Besides both of those things, I got to have an awesome falafel salad at Whole Foods today. It's right by the clinic. & our old apartment. It came with this awesome dill salad dressing and it was the best. Also, ginger snaps for dessert. Yum! Food has a way of making you feel a wee bit better.

P.S. I'm still working on those top 5 lists. I'll post them up before the end of the month. It's taking a little longer because some require photos. :)

Does it hurt the most after waking up and taking your first step? It hurts the most in the morning. Here are some other sites:

They all have the same stretches on there. So if this is what you think you have, you should do them. My foot is so much better. It still hurts, but it's very mild considering I could barely move on Monday.

Its a very, very sharp pain, if I hit the wrong spot. As well as if I stretch it in the wrong direction. But other than that, it's almost normal. No clue if it's what I have or not, but I'm going to do the stretches anyway. How weird that it happened at the same time though!

I'm sorry to hear about your foot! I hope it feels better soon!

I think cash or a gift card(Trader Joe's...) would probably be well appreciated!

Thank you. The pain has subsided for now with the stretches and the ibuprofen. I can't believe how bad it was on Monday. I could barely walk.

Trader Joe's might be a good idea. I'll look into that. Thank you. :)

I think the cash is fine for a grad gift. I loved getting all the money that I got for graduation.

Yeah, I think that's what we might do. I'm still thinking about it though. Money is quite grand though. :)

Yeah, I'd third the cash vote. My suggestion was going to be a hoodie or something from your friend's college, but cash is probably better.

I'm treating my foot problems with ibuprofen in gel form, but from the looks of that Wikipedia entry yours is something completely different. Poor you!

I can't imagine this guy wearing a hoodie for some reason. He's just not the type, even though he's a musician.

I thought of you as soon as my foot started to hurt and wondered if I had the same problem. I don't. But foot problems in all their variances (is this even the right word?) totally suck. Poor US! :(
