Another year, another change jar. This year I found $5.23 (less than last year). I thought it would have been less than that, because it didn't seem like I was finding very much lately. Last summer, I found a ton walking past the Burger King drive-thru on my way to work. I found a lot of silver change that way. Unfortunately, I can't take the short cut anymore, since they put up a fence, so I've only been spotting pennies here and there. Boo!

& now it finds a new home in my piggy bank and to start all over again.

man, that sounds fun!!! I need to walk more and look for money. See, where we live everybody has cars. We have only one mode of public transportation and... I dunno, it's always boggled my mind to think of places where a lot of people don't have cars just because I grew up here where we get our first heap of junk when we turn 16 (self bought, not a gift for most of us). lol

well, since i spent about 10 years living in texas prior to being in boston, everyone also has cars there. everything is so far away, and rarely do you see people walking. i've walked to the grocery store and the wal-greens, but they are relatively close and it wasn't an everyday thing. and it's so hot there, so you have to apply sunscreen and be out of the sun and it just blows mostly. i don't know how to drive, so honestly, it's awesome that i can jump on a train and get somewhere (even though in most cases it takes a gazillion times longer by train/bus).

but yes, i agree, it still boggles my mind and i've been living here since 2001. i feel so lucky to have it.

you should start just looking on the ground anytime you're out and you'll probably be surprised how much you find. i find things by the grocery store or mall and lying around in strange places. i've already found 4 pennies! which is not that great of a start, but something.

PS. I dearly love my soaps. I don't think I've ever felt so clean!!! I keep them out of the shower so they don't melt away like the directions warned about. lol
